Caffarel - chocolate art since 1826!
The Italian chocolate brand Caffarel is already in Pick'n'Mix. In 1826 Pier Paul Caffarel comes to Torina with his passion for chocolate and the dream to open his own factory.
It the city suburbs he opens a workshop, one of the first in Italy and Europe.
Caffarel make an innovation in chocolate production. In 1865 they create Gianduiotto. This is the first individually packed praline. It is based entirely on hazelnuts and hazelnut cream, where from it gets its name.
Caffarel use a unique method of production, named "extrusion". That's where the unique tender texture of the chocolate comes from.
The company also prides their Piemonte chocolates. They combine softness and the tenderness of the Gianduia chocolate with crispy whole nuts.
Today Caffarel is a part of the Lindt & Sprüngli and will soon celebrate its 200 birthday.
